A Sicilian Adventure | Travel

Hey dolls, how are all of my lovely readers doing? Its been a while since I’ve done a post, I keep meaning to and, oops – life gets in the way. But I’m very excited about this one!

I’m finally posting about my lovely little holiday break to Italy with my boyfriend. We loved Rome so much in December 2016, so, we decided to pick another beautiful place in Italy to visit in December 2017, we picked the amazing Sicily and it definitely didn’t disappoint!

Here are the top 3 places we explored, and I hope it inspires you to visit one day – Enjoy!

Murgo Winery

There are so many wineries in Sicily, it was a very hard choice between them all wanting to get it right. We ended up choosing Murgo out of convenience as it was closest to our hotel and Sicilian taxi’s cost an absolute bomb – but it ended up being the best choice!

Everything about Murgo was great, their fresh wines, home grown and made food, beautiful views at every corner, orange trees and the cutest friendly dogs running around!

Mount Etna – Europe’s Tallest Active Volcano

P1020699 (2)P1020724 (2)P1020732 (2)P1020751 (2)

I was so nervous to go up mount etna but I knew I would regret it if I didn’t! We rented a car and drove up the winey roads with the most magnificent views you could ever imagine. We thought it couldn’t get any better, but we we’re absolutely blown away once we got to the first stop – 3000 meters high!

For our first time on Mount Etna we we’re recommended by a local and our hotel receptionist to go up there and explore alone rather than get a guided tour, and if you plan on going I recommend the same too!

If there is enough snow on Mount Etna you can ski on there, which is what we hoped to do but unfortunately, we had amazing sunny weather when we went.

Taormina – Ancient Greek Theatre & Villa Comunale

P1020687 (2)P1020632 (2)P1020562 (2)P1020593 (2)P1020564 (2)

Taormina is such a pretty and authentic Sicilian town in the hills, the pretty and picturesque houses and streets are beautiful enough, but the views from the town are mind blowing.

We visited the ancient Greek theatre & the villa comunale before having lunch in a cute restaurant sitting on top of ancient roman ruins – I’ll let the pictures tell the story for this one.

There are endless places to explore in Sicily that you are literally spoilt for choice, but these are the places we chose for our 4 nights in Sicily.

I hope this has inspired you to visit Sicily one day because it is definitely worth it.
(If you are thinking about it – I recommend staying in Taormina or Palermo and booking your tours to these places from there)

Stay Glowing In Winter | Skincare Tips

Winter is here which means that summer glow is gone! Colder, crispier weather can leave your skin dry and dull. I’ve got some AMAZING tips for you to keep up that summer glow, even in the winter!

Use Hyaluronic Acid

Cold weather, long hot showers and central heating can take a lot of moisture out of the skin. Hyaluronic acid is the perfect solution for the dry winter season, it’s a humectant which means it retains and preserves moisture; it does this by drawing water from the deeper layers of your skin into the more superficial layers and deeply hydrates your skin.

Simply-pure

I am currently using Superdrug ‘Simply Pure Rich Emulsion Moisturiser’ which contains Hyaluronic Acid in it, it’s only £4.99 and it has honestly been amazing for me so far – don’t bother with the expensive ones, it’s a con – they all work the same.

Face Oil Overnight

Sounds like a disaster because oil is seen as ‘greasy’ but it honestly does wonders for the skin.

Coconut-oil

Coconut oil is cheap, it’s not greasy and it does amazing things! Before you sleep cleanse your face (we’ll get to my recommended cleaner below) and moisturise with coconut oil – this locks in the moisture without leaving you with a greasy feeling and you wake up with a natural glow. Coconut oil is amazing for the skin and keeping spots away. Of course, it varies between people, but it has always worked wonders on me and I highly recommend it.

Regularly Apply Eye Cream

Whenever winter comes, dark and puffy eyes seem to follow, no matter how much sleep you get – annoying right? But one thing I found to help with this is eye cream.

eyecream

I’ve been trying out Superdrug’s ‘Vitamin E Eye Cream’ and so far it’s great, it keeps my dark circles at bay. I also use eye patches to help with my puffy eyes, I suffer from this quite frequently and especially in winter.
Superdrug ‘Refreshing Hydrogel Eye Patches’ are honestly amazing for puffiness and they brighten the eyes too.

Avoid Wipes – Use cleanser instead

They’re so much easier to use and especially after a night out, but cleansing/makeup wipes wipes don’t effectively clean the skin, they smear dirt, bacteria, oil and makeup all over your face.

A lot of makeup wipes also irritate the skin, since you aren’t rinsing the active ingredients in the wipes that are smeared all over your face, you leave your skin exposed to so many chemicals. Some wipes even contain alcohol which can cause stinging and is very drying – not the best for your skin and especially in winter!

Nivea

Use a hydrating cleanser instead, I like to use ‘Nivea Micellar Water’ with a cotton pad, rinse my face & then apply ‘Nivea Purifying Toner’. It gets all the makeup off my face, doesn’t irritate or dry my skin & also keeps it hydrated.

Exfoliate regularly

We all know about this one, but does anyone else keep forgetting or gets too lazy to do it when you’re so busy? Yeah, I do too! But it’s super important to do, exfoliating removes dullness and flaking caused by dead skin cells and you definitely want to get rid of those – especially in winter!

exfoliating-daily-wash

I use an exfoliating kit from eBay   (Exfoliating kit), which is honestly no different to the expensive you can get. Once again – it’s a con! I use it with my all-time favourite, ‘Clean & Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash’, I try to exfoliate at least once a week  but also never more than twice a week – over-exfoliating does exist.

I hope these tips have helped you out this winter, let me know how you find them and if there are any tips I should know about?

Autumn Trend Favourites | AW17

Hey Dolls, I’ve really missed blogging for you these past two weeks! Doesn’t time just go so fast? My aim is still a blog a week; I’m working on that.

I know Autumn is nearly over right? But I’m back this week with 4 of my Autumn trend favourites that I know you’ll love – inspired by London Fashion Week!

Red

Red is definitely the colour this Autumn/Winter season, it dominated the A/W17 shows – Givenchy, Max Mara & Preen all featured looks head-to-toe in red.

P1010155P1010173

I like to call this my lifeguard jacket, it’s such a bright red! From the lovely H&M.

Side Stripe Trousers

I’m sure you will have seen these a few times, there are a lot of fashion stores now bringing out the side stripes, but these are my faves.

P1010140(Definitely put too much roll on that day)P1010126

These are from HOT!MESS and they fit like a glove. Notice the red stripe too? Knocking out two trends all in one go.

Checks/Tartan

Checks & Tartan are definitely making a comeback this AW17 and I’m loving it.

Day to Night I: Blacked Out

Hey dolls, I missed blogging for you last week! My aim is to do at least one blog each week, but I’ve been super super busy – a blog a week is a little trickier than I thought when working full time & being such a busy bee. But I’m back this week with a nice little something for you.

I know we all have those days when you’re out and about all day but you also have night plans, and in between that you don’t have any time to change your whole entire outfit. No need to fear, cocachelle is here (see what I did there?). I thought I’d help you out with some inspiration for those dreaded days – blacked out edition!

Day Look

Maybe2

For those super casual busy days that need that style and sass, I paired these basic culottes from prettylittlething.com that are only £10 with a cute long sleeve bardot top, the one I’m wearing is from Primark for about £4 – tie it up for extra sass.

Night Look

Maybe3

Bring it from day to night by poppin some cute heals on, and if you have time make a quick top change. The top I’m wearing is from Topshop at £18 – not as much of a bargain as the other one.

A small 5 minute change can make all the difference and bring you from errands to elegance.

The Jeans & A Nice Top Saga: Part 1

Hello dolls, how are you all doing? I hope you’ve been looking forward to my next post as much as I have!

So, I know every girl reading this will agree that the most stressful dress code you can ever be told is… Jeans and a nice top! And you think, what does that even mean? It’s by far the most annoying dress code but it seems to be the go to for casual drinks, or not so casual drinks, basically everything.
If you ever struggle on what to wear for those kinds of occasions and need some ideas, you’re in the right place.

This first top is super cute, I wore it with ripped jeans to add a little sauce if you don’t want to look too cute.

This glittery top is an ultimate favourite! It’s actually a bodysuit but same thing, right? I originally wore this with a pair of black flare trousers and black barely there heels for a proper night out.

As you can see this bodysuit is super versatile – you can dress it up with trousers and heels, or dress it down with jeans and boots but either way, you’ll definitely make a statement.

It could be fair to say I have a small frill and flare obsession. This cute flared arm crop top is lovely for a drink with the girls or a date night with your bae.

As much as off-shoulder tops annoy me, I can’t get enough of them – I don’t mind having to pull my top down all night if it looks fabulous, right?

You’d think I was sponsored by them, all the tops in this blog are from prettylittlething.

There will be more parts of the jeans and a nice top saga! Posted regularly to keep you going, so hit that follow button and stay tuned.
